Yoga for Trauma Healing
A significant body of research has demonstrated that practicing yoga can be beneficial for trauma healing. However, many public yoga classes are not designed with trauma survivors in mind. This six-week group will offer a space to practice gentle, accessible yoga with a trained therapist in a setting that prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment. Group sessions will include 45 minutes of yoga practice, as well as time to connect with fellow group members. This group will be facilitated by Ellen McSweeney, a therapist and yoga teacher with specialized training in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). If you’d like, you can read a blog post Ellen wrote about TSY.
